Well I purchased them what feels like 6 months ago and just had way too much going on in my life. Between my now 1 year old Daughter, getting a massive job promotion, redoing my garage and installing solar power I just didn’t have the time.

Anyway I tossed the springs on, sway bar on and even disconnected the stupid noise maker while I was at it. I figured I would have a little fun with it so I recorded it all on my GoPro. I'll speed it up and post it later on along with some pictures.

I only had the chance to drive it to work today but I'm impressed. The ride is extremely "stockish." If anything I can feel more rebound but less dampening. The sway bar makes a massive difference but that should be expected. Ride height looks to be about an inch lower all the way around. All 4 fenders are exactly the same ground to fender. I really don’t think the "added weight" from the batteries affected it much if at all.

There is probably 1/2 degree camber adjustment in the front strut to knuckle bolts. If you press in on the top of the brake caliper as you tighter them up that should get your alignment fairly close side to side and at max negative (or closer to 0.0) camber.

Over all I think it took about an hour and a half for the 4 springs and the sway bar. And that included quite a few brew breaks and neighbors stopping in to talk shit.

Now that I have my life back on track if anyone want to hit me up to get some work done feel free to. Next I want to get the Toyota 1mm thicker OEM front sway bar for the hell of it. I'll take the risk with it.

Attached are a few extremely bad and dirty pictures. The rims are so damn recessed the shadow makes the drop deceiving.

Last night took a trip from South OC out to Ontario through the Toll Roads and such. Had 4 Adults, a baby in a car seat and a 50 pound block of titanium in the back. Never bottomed it out and even went over a few speed bumps.

    Looks good. :)

Speed bumps are fine. You just have to watch the front lip on steep driveways and parking blocks. :)

The rear looks a lot lower. Maybe because of the extra weight? Or it might just be the shadow that is cast. But, it looks good.

All 4 corners were identical height fender to ground. I believe the number was 22... Maybe it was 23... measured on a concrete pad.

Dropped another PiP this morning. Plugged it into my 220 after I jacked it up, and the 220 finished charging as I was checking the Tq on the last few bolts. So probably an hour and 20 minutes for springs and sway.

Looks good on 16" rims. Measured afet all 4 corners within 1/8 inch and nearly perfectly level.

I'm curious if the H&R springs would produce a better look than the TRDs. The H&R springs lower the front more than the rear. This should in theory provide either a tiny bit of rake or make the car truly level-looking. To me, the TRDs make the rear look lower than the front due to the shape of the wheel well arches.

...I agree that the TRD rear anti-sway really is worth putting on for real life use.

    Nice pics!

I completly agree its the wheel wells that give it that rear squat look on the plug in. but still it's level... I measured all the ones i have done and they all come out equal. Just looks decieving at some angles. I still love it though. All I have to do is look at my wifes stock height 2011 IV parked next to mine and it reminds me how happy I am not to have the 4x4 look going on anymore...

I completly agree, after daily driving with it for a few months now I would easily catagorize it as a nice Daily Driver addition. Living in a hilly area in SoCal you really tell the difference in standard driving.

And thats not me just trying to justify a purchase, I save that for my real race cars!

I scrape the front bumper backing into my garage when I have a passenger. I always have to remember to pause right as my front wheels touch the curb to avoid it. I'm interested in the sway bar but I'm waiting for more user feedback.

I'm pretty unbiased man I have built and raced 800+ HP turbo 4's. I'll tell you like it is. It's a massive upgrade. most other cars you simply go from a hollow say 22mm sway to a solid 24mm sway so while there is a difference it's not even a fraction of the difference as in our case going from nothing to something.

While truth be told I really don't see it as a "true" rear sway bar in the typical sense. to me it's more a rear axle/control arm stiffiner. but it does hold true to the name as in it massivly removes rear body roll and keeps the oposing tire planted on left.

Hey guys, after reading these I decided I wanted a lower car when I called Toyota gilroy for the trd springs the guy specifically told me they are not compatible with pip and it's not returnable, or is it just because the will sit lower ?

Well, you see in this thread that Totmacher installed the TRD springs on his PiP.. so they do work.

The guy at the parts counter will tell you its not compatible because when he puts in your VIN, it most likely doesnt show the TRD springs as an available part number.

That's true. And I also have installed my springs but the parts guy called toyota and they told they aren't compatible and not to sell it to any customer for a pip but since I was a resale shop with a resale permit he sold them to me [IMG]
