I have a 2002 Prius without cruise control. I am thinking about getting the wheel to add it. What impact does cruise have on mileage on these models? Any tips or input on doing the instalation? Thanks

Vincent, thanks for the lead. What I was looking for is how the vehicle is with cruise and is it worth the investment. Todd
I only use CC on long trip to Malaysia. In Singapore, I hardly use it because of the traffic. To me, it is more of a convenience than better mpg, my foot always do better. Others in your country may want to comment? Regarding investment, I spent less than USD10 as I did not change the steering wheel and brake light switch, just a couple of resistors, switches and a relay. Everything is reversible and removable so that my dealer would not void my warranty. Vincent
locally I seldom use it as the traffic is just too bizare to bother. My first trip with the car was 1800 Km and all hiway and my foot would have fallen off to drive it that distance. Mileage for that trip in late winter was 5.3 liters per hundred km. 52.3 miles per Imperial gallon 44.3 USGallon. Average temp for the trip was about 3C and includes 5 mountain passes to 5700 feet. Most hiway trips that I take of over 20 miles I use it as that takes me out of the metromess and in to more reasonable traffic. Both of our Classics, 2k1 and 2k3, have had cruise .
