FR-S rims on Prius: Anyone else use spacers?

5mm would be bad to use, the lugs would only get 3 turns then =/... I'm not sure where someone got that info from....
I was big in the fitment game on the Lexus.
I had SRR,Work EuroLine DH's, then Work EuroLine SL's(Leon Harditt Orden's), and lastly Brabus Monoblock VI's before I sold the car). all in the course of less than 2 years lol........So yeah 3 turns is not something you want to have grab against the studs, lugs, and wheels.

 

Good to know. Prior to my post the only person to state what they used said 5mm but they didn't say anything about the number of turns on the studs.

What would be the next best spacer to use if they wanted the wheel to sit a little more flush but still have enough stud to grab? Do the 10mm or 15mm spacers have new studs?

 

Most 15mm+ spacers will have new studs pressed in it.

H&R does not press new studs until their 20MM spacers
Ichiba V2's will have studs pressed in but they're solid blocks of T6-6061.

I personally like using Wide Thread Spacers Project Kics spacers(where they're pocketed out for less off-sprung weight if spacers must be used.

I am thinking of going the FR-S route also. So, 3mm is the correct spacer correct? I am thinking of getting these:

Aside from the 3mm spacer, is there anything else needed? I've read somewhere (quoted below) that lugs may need replacing. Where or how do I find "skinnier" lugs? Does the TPMS sensor that comes with the FRS works on the Prius? Thanks!

Thanks. I just ordered the 3mm spacer from the same ebay supplier (link above) and saw some 1.5mm lugs in ebay. Since the frs/brz tires I got does not comes with TPMS, can I use the stock TPMS?

 

Yeah, you can use the stock TPMS. You just have to swap them over. Post pics once you get it done. I think the FR-S wheels look great on a Prius.
