DROPPING BATTERY CHARGE

couple quick points... the number is calculated based on your car's past driving history, cold weather (even low 50s) will drop the number (lots of posts on this topic)

 

I'll step in here as I had the same problem. As people tell you it is based on past driving habits. What people didn't tell me and I learned on my own is the faster and more aggressively you drive while in EV, the more energy is going to be used. When I first made my commute on the freeway at 60-62 mph (after first getting the PiP) I used up battery charge like crazy and before I knew it I had 9.5 miles of range after each charge.

I changed my commute and now drive my 8 or so miles at 40 mph. Lo and behold the range started to climb. It takes more energy to push the car at higher speeds.

It is now turned into a game to see how many miles I have left at the end of each commute. I charge at work and pretty much stay in EV unless longer trips are needed. I reset my trip A with each commute to and from work and my combined EV left + trip distance is consistently in the high 12"s - low 13"s. I am also here in Ventura.
