After 10 months of trouble free operation, the timer has failed. No longer able to program overnight charging. Will return to Toyota for replacement. Has anyone else had timer failure?

Can you still recharge? The timer is a feature of the car. What would be replaced?

Can you elaborate on fail? Like did it just stop working? When you push the button it doesn't do anything? etc...

Did you reset the time. I did and did not realize that it is a 24 hour clock with AM and PM time. Felt pretty foolish when I figured it out.

The timer failed to charge at both the start and finish times, overnight. The clock hasn't changed, I know AM from PM and for 10 months it worked fine. When setting it up and plugging in, the car goes thru the normal clicking routine, the Leviton EVSE Level 2, snaps on the charging light for the normal 7 or 8 seconds, and goes off normally. Next morning, car is not charged. Without timer, car charges as usual. Timer is faulty.

Should be covered under warranty. Let us know what Toyota says. They might point to the Charger. They talk to each other and it could be something in the communication. You could try charging with a 110 to see if the timer works with that. It that also fails, its the timer, no question.

Well, SimiPrius hit the nail on the head. Wife drives car, and normally powers down, and then hits the timer button. Of course with the car off, the clock can't be seen. She claims she didn't touch the clock, but since I had to look up in the manual how to reset it, sure had to be someone else. Soooooo... I was fixated on the AM/PM of the TIMER, not the clock. Timer is not faulty. Won't happen again.

The rest of it goes something like this: think horses, not zebras. I don't remember who said it or when, or in what context. It just seemed to fit at the moment.;)
