That's the great thing about technology. I put a shifter extension on mine and I feel better.

Not me . . . . but I AM going into the kitchen ... I think for breakfast I'll have me som scrambled condor eggs - my favorite.

Ever notice for example, that Audi doesn't compare itself to the Chevy malibu? Yep ... once again, the competition compares itself to the best. Apparenly the geniuses that Ford hired to do marketing didn't even notice, and then Ford let it slip by.

    Funny but silly. :)

Gotta give them credit for reaching for those audiences.

The C-max isn't a bad car and it is being marketed. Now where are the Prius v ads? Few and pretty staid. The Ford marketing guys are going after a younger demographic. Look at who buys each. In a few years we'll see which strategy works better.

I just happened to go to the Toyota web site the other day because I was curious just how much room in the "trunk" the C-max gave up I did a comparison of the v with the C-max. The C-max comes out quite favorably in many categories even by the Toyota site's side by side comparison...probably more than the Prius

While 10 cubic feet difference in trunk space was what disqualified it for me, the Ford has it's virtues. If someone else is looking for something different, it doesn't bother me.

It's funny on the Onramp commercial, they are racing up the onramp to get stuck in traffic.

A whole commercial about the size of the shifer? ON A CAR THAT HAS A CVT?

I feel like these commercials talk down to hybrid buyers. Why not talk about the leather seats? the peppier feel? Missed opportunity.

They can't advertise on the realworld MPG so it is marketed for a bigger shifter. :D

So that's where the Gamefly guy went to.
Seeing how their closest GM competitor is Cadillac, I think any executive at Audi suggesting that would be looking for a new job.

Yes, normally you don't want to mention the competitor in your ad. Unless you are hoping to steal sales from them, like Pepsi with Coke. The Prius is the big dog in the hybrid world. It has almost become a Xerox or Kleenex in the language. Just saying the C-max is a hybrid probably has the audience thinking about the Prius. Might as well point out the C-max's positives over it.

Seems to be working. Saw my second C-max yesterday. That's double the number of Prius vs I've run across.

No Buffaloes were killed in the making of that commercial, nor was anyone distressed about the size of their "shifter".

i forgot how long they spent on the shifter.

    seriously?

though, apparently, it DOES throw a lot of people off. which is a little hard for me to understand…i mean…i use the shifter what, once? to move from park into drive?

oh, and it really irks me how they say it's been around for a while. huh? the car hasn't even been out for two years yet.

There's a whole series of 'segments' under 'hybrid games' on Ford's site. see F8Ls link.

I still think the first video with the truck pass is pretty tacky when the blond dude mimics shooting the 'world renowned physicist' who gets off two words before 'Bob Brandt' says 'Boooooom' and announces himself.

Toyota ran Prius v ads a year and 3 or so months ago when it first came out.

C-Max has its virtues. Tons of headroom front and back. Great view/viz looking forward and to sides. More conventional and modern interior.

The back seats are a bit on low side, so adults won't get the best thigh support back there. No sliding or reclining rear seats. Cargo area is quite a bit smaller in C-Max.

There's a chance C-Max won't scratch above 37 MPG in real world. That's just too much discrepancy from the advertised 47 avg.
