I plan on buying new wipers in the coming months. Does anyone know the sizes of the front and rear wiper blades? I looked in the manual I couldn't find them tried looking on PC not much luck either.
Random googling seems to indicate a 28 inch drivers side and a 14 inch passenger side, with a subtly different 14 inch in the rear.
The front driver is a 28 and the passenger is a 14. I just replaced mine with the better wiper blades. The 14 is hard to find, in a good blade, but I did find one. The back one I measured as an 8in.
top tip apply Glycerine or Glycerol (same product) to your wipers blades and they will last longer, also brings new life to old wiper blades, available in chemists
I guess they expected you to use a ruler or yardstick and the wiper applications cat. You do want to sure the wipers will fit on your arm. And 28 inches? Measure.
Do what many of us do. When you replace the front wiper, just clip down one of them to the size you need and stick it on the rear. I'm not sure of it's size, but the last one I did buy, I bought from Wal-Mart. It was still about 3/4 of an inch too long though, even though it was supposed to be for my car..
I could swear the rear wiper used the "rear wiper mount" rather than the hook type used by most cars for front wipers. ...or are you sliding out the actual rubber blade only, and retaining the arm?
Gotcha. I stopped doing blade-only replacements a few years back. Instead I found cheap remaindered complete assemblies. I might have 3 different brands/styles on the car at any one time, but when they're $2-4 apiece I don't mind. Note that this applies to our older cars, the Prius still hasn't worn out its factory set yet.
