There's a 2010 Prius I'm looking at buying that's advertised as being a Package 2, but it has JBL audio system with bluetooth and the buttons on the steering wheel like in the picture below. I thought that was only on the Prius III. Am I confusing Package 2 with Prius II or are those the same thing? If you're wondering, it only has 20k miles and is listed for $17,645. I think that's a good deal, right? especially if it is actually a III. No Nav or backup camera though.
I think it is a mistake, it should be a III. From what I know the II didn't have the right wiring for JBL or the NAV, that means no BT. Just what I think.... however, please keep us in the loop.
Agree that it sounds like a 2010 Prius (model) III. Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota has the original price and option matrix. Prices have gone up since them and for '12+ model years, the content of each model/trim level has changed.
Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear that it might actually be a III. The only thing I can't tell from the description or the pictures, is if it has the 6 disc changer, which was standard on the III. But, according to that matrix, cwerdna, the JBL system only comes with a 6 disc changer or a 4 disc changer if it's got the Nav package, which this does not. From this image it looks like the icon in the lower left of the Head Unit is definitely a JBL logo. The dealer's open for another 15 minutes so I might call and ask if it's got the disc changer. Either way, we're going to drive out there tomorrow on our way to NYC for the weekend. Assuming all is well (and that it doesn't sell between now and noon tomorrow after which the salesman said he could set it aside until we arrive), I think we're going to bring it home with us. This is the car here by the way. I definitely haven't seen any Gen III's, whether model II or III with as few miles for that low of a price. At least not ones that aren't salvage titles. Carfax report looks squeaky clean and guarantees it's not a salvage.
I wanted a leather steering for my two. So I added the steering wheel and it came with the bluetooth. Everything worked. So the Prius II can be upgraded with the wires in the back to look like a Prius III for the wheel. Did they install the radio as well? You need to ask.
My 2010 Prius III doesn't have the plastic hubcaps, but Mag Wheels-this could be some kind of mixed model Prius.
Kzooman - Could you tell that this one has plastic hubs by the pictures or by what's in the description. Looks like the Carfax says it was purchased from Colonial Toyota in Milford, CT. Might give them a call and see if they can pull anything up on it from the VIN. Just got a response from the dealer about my stereo question: "This Prius is actually a package III, meaning that it has a JBL audio system in it with a 6-disc CD changer. Additionally, it has an integrated bluetooth system as well, which pairs up with a phone to pull calls over the speakers and can stream music wirelessly." Sweet! So does that mean, it should have Mag wheels?
You won't be able to stream music, but you can make/take calls. It's possible that this model doesn't have the Mag Wheels or they were changed out. Price is very good, I bought mine a year ago with 58k miles for a few grand more.
So the 2010 Prius III with JBL stereo non-nav doesn't have A2DP? That's lame. I was thinking about upgrading the head unit at some point, but that's good to know going in. Does it at least have an AUX in jack?
Any ideas if the wires are already there behind the wheel and we just need the wheel/buttons to get it to wok ? (I'm hoping the wire from the stereo are already there to the wheel)
I can confirm my new bluetooth buttons from a 2010 Prius III (ebay purchase) works on my 2011 Prius II with an aftermarket installed Flyaudio nav. When I hit the pick up/answer call the mode changes on the nav to cell phone and picks up. I think the new buttons contain additional pins in the connectors because I did not need to connect any extra plugs. I was surprised to see it work because I did not really want new buttons. I was happy to get the OEM leather wheel at a good price. There are only two plugs and a blue ground wire I hooked back up. Your radio maybe different so be careful.
It should. 2010-2011 Priuses without 17" wheels have alloy wheels w/a plastic cover on top. Gen III - Why the plastic covers for alloy wheels? | PriusChat shows what they look like w/o the plastic cover. Unfortunately, many of the old images of with and without are busted now. Yes, 1st point is correct. Yes, 2010 Priuses should all have aux input jack.
Does having the XM radio option installed make any difference in terms of A2DP on a 2010 model iii w/out Navy? SCH-I535 ? 2
The 2010 Prius 2 does have BT and the steering wheel buttons that are in the picture that you posted. I just traded mine in on a 2012 3. Same buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. Joe C
