Hello Rich, you can add guide lines to the display if it is an OEM setup you have on a Prius. If I remember correctly you turn the auto backup system on and there are touch buttons on the display to add the lines. The display I find most useful is with two strait green bars that show the position of the car in a strait line, and yellow bars that curve as you turn the steering showing the path the car will take for a given steering angle. If this does not work let me know as I am going out for a short while later and will double check. John (Britprius)
Both cameras are original equipment from Toyota. I reread the manual and can't find any screen settings to turn guidelines on. I don't know if the lines were part of the 2008 and 2009 cameras. If not I would be interested in an aftermarket add on. I look forward to additional input.
hi try navtool they are @ navtool.com thy may have a solution, i have purchased my back-up camera kit from them
For some reason, I have the feeling they don't put the guidelines on cars in the US. For my life, I can't figure out why. Do they think people here never back up into a parking space ever? I had never seen any car with the guidelines until I went abroad...
Rich, update to backup camera. If you go into reverse with auto park turned on "so reverse picture comes on" then turn auto reverse off. On bottom left of MFD is a button, touch to scroll through 3 different modes. Hope this helps. PS, no offence meant but every time I respond to one of your posts I keep responding as if you are in the UK because of your avatar. Guess I'll get use to it soon. John (Britprius)
Just acquired a 2007 with factory backup cam and nav. I don’t think the auto park was ever offered in the US market. I guess we’re that good at parking, NOT! I still would like to have the guidelines on the screen. Is this even possible with a US spec car?
When I park my car, i like to align the guidelines with the yellow parking marks on the ground, so I know my car is right in the center of my space. (OCD sorry) as you can see from the attached manual extract, even-thought the car is perpendicular to the line of poles, the camera shows them curving, because the camera isn't mounted dead center. So it's very frustrating when you try to adjust your position with the camera only to realize you were off because the camera was off center. /rant
It's not. It's just a pkg 1. No camera. Is the head unit the same in the I v. II? I thought it was a Pkg II. I was wrongo.
