10 years/150K on the hybrid battery in CARB States. It had to be originally sold in a CARB state and also be registered in a CARB State for the longer warranty. Standard warranty on the hybrid parts is 8 years/100K. If it was me, I would pass on that one and try to find a little newer Prius with less miles. I would imagine the reason that car is for sale is because the warranty will expire soon and the previous owner feels like yourself, scared of the battery. However, you could buy the car, invest about $3000 in it and have the battery replaced with a ReInvolt Unit and probably have a car that would last a good 150K more miles with any luck. Of course, with a used car it is anybody's guess. The question is how much are you willing to risk. Any used car always has a risk... Ron
