I know the display is a trip-by-trip basis, but is there a screen that displays your overall mileage? Does it show up when you fill up the car, or is it something you'll have to average yourself? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've read (skimmed) the owner's manual twice and didn't see anything.
I use " Trip A" for the tank ful of fuel. It will show the mileage for you til you reset it. For over all I am using "Trip B", and don't reset it. When we travel I will reset B but it has not been reset for the last 6,000 miles so I can see the average overall. Some of us use the bar graph for instant mileage and some of us use external gauges, ScanGauge and Ultra Gauge. If I did not answer what you needed to know, let me know and I will try it again. No "dumb" questions. Dan
There should be a display button somewhere, mine is on the steering wheel...hit that a couple times, watch your screen and your overall average should show up on one of the displays! Might be different for the C though, idk!! Good luck!
Thanks for your response. My "Trip A" says my average MPG is only 37, but my individual screens are always high 40's to 50's...Where did that number come from?
I don't know. Reset it when you fill it up then use a calculator to see if it is right. We all seem to find that that reading is liberal by one to three miles per gallon. Mine is a little over a mile per gallon liberal. Your's might be cheating you. But, I watch my instant MPG on a ScanGauge. It is often at 75-80 mpg but my average will be 45-50 because of "take offs" at 12 mpg or so. I also like to "stomp" the accelerator at times, just for the fun of it. That will drop my instant mileage into single digits. If your 5 minute averages are all over 50 then one of them might be "off". How many miles do you have on your C? Dan
With a fuel receipt, a trip computer, and a calculator. The car’s computer is usually 3 mpg off. Don’t trust it
