Just curious to know the amount of time everyone uses CC while driving? I recently started using it and have seen great improvment in mpg. JG
The more your driving is a steady speed over 47 MPH on dead flat ground, the better CC will do for you. Pulse and glide at lower speeds, and any elevation change work for manual control
Right, if your part of the country is not billiard table smooth, CC may be working the engine harder than it needs to. The lower Mississippi river valley is billiard table smooth, I can drive over 150 miles and gain 100 feet in elevation. A much larger area is almost that smooth, including parts of MO. In the shaded area, Cruise Control is not guessing wrong.
I like cc. It is on for about 90% of my driving for open roads. I find it to do well for me. In town I do better. H
I generally get 2 mpg worse if I drive in Michigan (which is pretty flat) with CC. When I'm driving thru a a tank of gas the 60 cents is worth it to use cc.
I use it for motorway driving during my commute. It keeps me in the speed limit and keeps my speed constant. Otherwise I often find my speed is quiet variable on a boring stretch of road.
