My understanding it that the dealer has software on a PC that opens all the valves so your brakes are all Hydraulic and can be bled. Without that software, you have regen braking and engine braking in the way of ever bleeding your brakes.
Thanks! just read a tech article and it refers to this magic box and several fused steps to open the system and bleed the fluid. Wish it were more simple. With this in mind, I really wonder if it is necessary after 6 years and 45K miles?
The more arid it is where you live (and you have no location listed) the less important it is, where it is very humid, it will be more important.
