Where is Toyota hiding the windshield washer fluid reservoir? Opened the hood and I see lots of coolant bottles and brake fluid reservoir but no windshield washer fluid. Can't find my wife's owners manual and search came up empty handed. Thanks in advance.
Moved to the Gen III Maint. and Troubleshooting forum from the Gen II forum. Unless your wife's car is a Gen II and that is what you're talking about. Just going from your profile, it says 2012.
Look towards the front (front like front of the car) left when standing in front of the front bumper with the hood open. It's I believe to the right of the headlight assembly. There is a black cap with a yellow plastic dip stick inside. The black cap has the washer fluid windshield icon thing on it. Even on a Gen II, it's on the far left. In this picture, of a Gen II, it's the one on the far left with the black cap and blue stuff inside. On a Gen III, it's the black cap shown in this photo to the right of the headlight towards the left of the picture:
Please disregard question as I finally found it. Didn't know Toyota does not include an owners manual with the purchase of a new Prius. PDF's online only. A lot of good that is going to do you when your stuck beside the road with a problem. The washer fluid is accessed through a small funnel like cap in the left front of the engine compartment when viewing from the front. It's got a dipstick. It's my wife's car so I'm a newbie. Thanks to everyone for their quick and friendly reply. Great resource this forum.
My BMW has a regular owners manual and one built into the Nav system. You can scroll thru it on the screen. Pretty neat.
Our's came with a couple of books: the Owners Manual, and another slim volume, outlining Warranty and Maintenance. Both in a black vinyl enclosure. Not sure, but sounds like someone dropped the ball on your purchase. Was it new?
Unless I'm way off-base, you certainly should have gotten an owner's manual. We just upgraded to a new Prius 2, and a number of books/booklets came with it.
