The screen is not a problem at all, it's dimable from 0%-100% brightness. If the web browser locks on a white page it can be a little bright, but most of the screens are gray or black backgrounds anyway and it's not distracting at all.
For most screens there is also a day and night setting in addition to it being dimmable. How distracting the screen is was one of our concerns before taking delivery. We have found it not to be an issue at all. With the large amount of space it actually is quite easy to use.
Does it feel totally weird yet to never go to a gas station?.. Culture shock! Alan.. Sent with Tapatalk 2
Can't recall the RN--it's less signficant, except to Tesla, my sequence number was R77 (Roadster Friends and family--after the Signature, before the other general production "P" numbers). The S has been great. Some little nit pick things that will be fixed with software updates and/or at my first maintenence visit. Otherwise working perfectly and it is just a joy to drive.
In that case I would expect a full-span diffuser, not localized to aft of the rear hubs. And in any case, gotta cool the cooling liquid somehow...
It's possible it's for straightening out the air flow (i.e. make it laminar) coming out the back rather than letting it curl around the wheel and create turbulent flow.
The only negative that haunts me with Tesla, is I know they are innovative and every few years the car may be lightyears ahead of its predecessor.... At that price, I certainly can't purchase a new one every 3 - 4 years like I can a prius. And without an engine, it will be interesting indeed to see how many miles it will go before it's considered worn out! Alan.. Sent with Tapatalk 2
yep, you don't have to worry about any "lightyears" of innovation happening with a prius. it is what it is.
Well I get a warm and fuzzy feeling "nothing personal fussy " having a backup... But that's a very heavy luxury item to carry around just to feel fuzzy."ill have to quit saying that! "... Especially with more innovations your less likely to use it. Maybe we could have a spare tire instead! But I'm thinking once the public gets over the stigma that a cool fast car has to have a long hood, the tesla will shed a lot of unneeded weight. Heck right now the storage room looks to be close to what the living cabin space is? In the future, I'm seeing something similar to a prius as far as shape... They could go crazy on making it look sportier though. The prius compartment where the ice is now would be the only storage, and that's mainly to have some sort of protrusion to cut the wind and give protection in case of frontal impact. The back would be Seats with possibly fold down into the floor when not wanted or for even more storage. Just a thought to shed even more weight and gain living space at the same time to make it feel even roomier. When you don't need an engine, that's a game changer! If nothing else, a good way to lower the price. Alan.. Sent with Tapatalk 2
Too funny, my wife wants me to get a tesla, says you only live once. I guess those promotional youtube videos really do work, B-) Alan.. Sent with Tapatalk 2
I have to ask, is the honeymoon over yet? Or are you still madly in love? Alan.. Sent with Tapatalk 2
I'm guessing that was addressed to Evan, but thought I would throw in my 2 cents. After five months of ownership, and about 6700 miles... no, the honeymoon is not over for us. Love it more and more, and the software additions and improvements keep coming. We have also been considering going pure electric and replacing our second car, a hybrid, with another Tesla. It won't be for a little while yet, and I'm not sure if it will be a smaller battery pack Model S, Model X, or if we really try to deny ourselves the pleasure and wait for the third gen sedan.
Afraid you'd say that! While the S would fit the bill 95+ percent of the time, I still can't warm up to the idea of having to spend the time to charge and route in directions of a charge station yet for long trips.... I could always rent or keep one of my high mileage prius's as a backup. Alan.. Sent with Tapatalk 2
