Unfortunately, the Kindle Fire marketplace does not offer the Torque App. I have the 8.9", it's really nice. I do however dislike the limited market of apps. I have not decided to root the device, as is it suits my needs as is! With my Amazon Prime account, I have tons of free stuff to watch! That's the reason I went Kindle. For viewing videos, it rocks!
tks KK6PD So is the problem (with this device) that the app is not available from Amazon or it won't run on device? Android system should run Android apps I thought. Maybe it can be d'loaded to pc then to device. Just trying to decide weather to keep this device or not.
I am defiantly keeping my Kindle. It offers so much that the loss of the Torque app is not a problem. I actually bought a used 7" tablet just to run torque. That works perfect, best part, $75 on ebay! The Kindle is to be used for work, and other projects! I got the wife a HP 1104 mini book. It is really a nice 7" laptop! The trick is how to download Torque, and then stick it on the Kindle!
Just got a response from Amazon support today. Gonna try their explanation of installing an app not available on Amazon Appstore. We'll see how it goes and advise.

appreciate the effort but just did a tablet swap should be ok now for what I'm looking for KFHD is a fabulous device but i can get to amazon easy enough and often enough without it have media devices at home for streaming last book i read was 'bored of the rings' in the 70's although my recall is not strong, I think i'm so shallow and almost totally devoid of culture due to the fact that i don't read much maybe a golf article or technical manual from time to time got all i needed during that 7 years in high school tks for the input and Happy New Year
