    Hi Windstrings

    Excuse me for asking but what did you pay for your Prius. Here in Wisconsin the Green Bay area we pay sticker. No discounts but no added on preminum either. Other area nearby are paying $2000 or more plus sticker for theirs.

    I managed to snag a $500 discount off MSRP here in the SF bay area using the good-old-Costco discount. Dealers still like to have lots of customers steered to them, and giving up a few bucks on some 'hot' models for a whole lot more volume is a good strategy for them.

    Windstrings, great choice on that color!

    Any chance it's at Gresham Toyota? I was there yesterday and saw one with a sold tag on it. The front lip spoiler wasn't installed properly, leaving a gap between it and the bumper. Maybe they snugged it up during final inspection, the plastic was still on the seats. It's my new obsession to check '06's for front spoiler installation. See my photo attached to a related thread a page or two down.

    And congrats! I think the '06 changes made Prius a smoother, more comfortable touring car than ever. The Silver Pine looks better in person than the brochure photo suggests, much more attractive on Prius than Avalon.

    Hi Jack, you must have found a laptop or something eh?... I thought you may be out the whole month?... glad your still in there!..

    No, This one is through the dealer at msrp... it kinda fell in our laps unexpectantly and it just happened to be the one my wife liked so we got it....

    Mine is through my broker and its 500 off msrp and it may be in the next allotment due if a few days.. we will see.....

    No.. my wife saw those too.. I called and they are all already sold.. they had about 5 on the lot.

    Thanks, Ill check the spoiler thing.

    And I"ve come to the conclusion that "everything" looks better in person than the pictures! :lol:

    I had an opposite experience. I really liked the Silver Pine Mica in pictures and on the internet, but when I saw one in person I changed my mind and got Driftwood Pearl instead. The Silver Pine Mica looked a little too green and too bright in direct sunlight.

    I hope you and your wife enjoy yours though! Congrats. I can tell it will be a happy day for you when the Barcelona comes in. :) That's awesome you'll be a two Prius family.

    We also felt the same on the Silver Pine Mica. The dealer also had a silver, red & white one in stock. A driftwood pearl had just came in at 2pm that afernoon and we liked that color the best. We bought the car at 6pm went to dinner and picked it up at 7:30pm. After a brief walk thru we were driving it home at 8pm.

    Thanks for the input... I actually was hoping its a bit more green... the 05 seaside pearl "I believe was the color" was supposed to be green, but was more silver, unless the light was just right.. then you could see a tiny bit.

    We figure Green and Red will be nice Christmas colors in the driveway! :)

    And the Black undertones of the glass against the barcelona is really nice... "black and red are nice together.... the both have the bisque leather.

    I didn't notice the pics yet amped, if you get a chance to show us.. I would appreciate it before I go pick up this eve after work.... I should be leaving my house about 4:30 pm PCT to go get it.

    I think you are talking about Tideland Pearl. The Seaside is still offered... and is blue.

    Which dealer did you use? We should have joined forces and got a 4:1 special since I also bought two 2006 pkg #8's. Heck... I even got different colors than you (silver and driftwood". Between us... we almost have a "complete set".

    I placed my name on the waiting list at Beaverton Toyota since it is the closest to my house. I ended up getting my 2 at Royal Moore a few miles up the road in Hillsboro.

    I still need to go back to Beaverton and get my deposit back.
