I'm a big guy. Linebacker build. 330 lbs. I have no qualms about the center console. I actually like it over the prior models. I don't seem to have an issue with it on lengthy trips. I actually have hip room in this thing which I was surprised by. Not as much as my 2007 Camry but still, no hip touching the drivers door.

I would suggest renting one for the trip to the fiancé's like another poster did.

I like, no, love it and any guests who ride shotgun love everything about my Prius... still have to go practice the electric slide in snow in a parking lot after having 4 wheel drive 24/7 - I still have my 4 wheel drive diesel girl but am finding she gets left behind unless her power or a farm job is needed...

I like the center console, but wish I had the 2012+ ones instead. I hate to have my center console open just to put my drink in and the person in the rear has to be careful getting out because the console is moved back. Does anyone know if the 2012+ center console will fit the 2010?

I was about to say... Prius Gen3 doesn't need its seat moved back farther. What good would that do since the steering wheel barely telescopes close enough to the driver. but, if you like it that's all that matters.

Basically, Toyota needs to start hoofing to get out the next gen liftback Prius. It needs improvements inside and out.

Nope. When Toyota puts out a generation of car, the interior is largely cast in stone. Yes, they make small mods after tje first two years like door panel colors, electronics, center console lid, front grill, tailights. But the whole center console, seats, steering wheel, dash, etc... those are set for the next 6 years.

you need to get out more often my friend :)
Not including my (6"-5" ) self - There are many happy "over 6'-2"customers here on PC that are not only users - but have written up positive reviews as well. The search tool can be your friend. And yes the "extend my seat" brackets are made for both gen's 2 & 3. Check out the Prius chat store ... you'll find them right there.

um...yeah... i was referring to this particular thread where they were NOT mentioned and simply throwing it out there as a possible solution (because, believe it or not, there could be people on this thread who may not have heard of them). Whoever wants to look into it can do their own research. okay, thanks.

We weren't sure we were going to like it in the 2012. Like others thoughts were that it would get in the way, but have found that we like it now. Kind of miss it when I drive the gen II. Cup holders are OK, but I like the ones in the gen II better.

I almost didn't buy it because of the flying bridge, my 2007 did fit me better, but it hasn't been a problem over 3 years, but it sure is weird to have to reach under it while driving to shut off the seat heaters. In the 2007, on a long trip, I'd put a cooler full of soda, water and sandwiches on the passenger side floor. I could reach for them as I drove, no chance of that with the bridge, you almost can't see the cooler, much less open it. Now the cooler goes behind the passenger seat, which I slide forward, and I can reach it. You learn to live around it, but like you, I think it is a poor design feature.

My short wife's elbow lands rirightright in the cup holder with the flying buttress pushing the armrest back. Prius can is too small for us. Prius v is acceptable but I'd love to see the mileage of the gen 3 without the flying buttress.

Since you are a taller guy i might recommend the prius V. They are larger and dont have the center console like in the hatch back. You maybfind you are more comfortable in that

In the worst way, I hope to god Toyota has the good sense - on the 2016 hatchback - to get rid of the fly bridge. But then again I also keep hoping that Toyota will sell PiP's in all 50 states. Don't bother asking me about how that's working out. :(

I hope they keep it. It's an original piece of design and in keeping with the futurist design of the car.

I'm 5'11'' and 90 kgs so not small, and I fit in the Prius fine. Surely if one becomes too big for a car the solution shouldn't be making more room inside or making the car bigger, but perhaps the occupants considering how to become smaller?

I hope Toyota keeps the flying bridge in the next generation. I am 6'3" and have no problem with it.

fitment isn't my problem. it's not the design that i mind, it's the layout. a total waste of space and difficult to access controls and under bridge space. but i don't hold much hope, looking across the toyota line up, they have some of the worst interior layouts imo. almost as bad as the germans.

I like it. But I wish they would have put the heated seat controls on the top instead of below, and used a Better plastic

i would like another upholder or storage box and a place for the phone. i believe that can be accomplished with something similar to the current design. and yes, move the seat heater switches.
