here is my new thule atlantis 1800 box on my car. if anyone was wonder if it fit. It does. the lift gate hits the box but it opens almost all the way up and not interference with the SAT or radio signal.
very little wind noise. I have not taken much of a trip with it yet. yes it did affect MPG. I am going to guess 4-5 mpg on highway driving.
That's not too bad for a temporary space fix. I am looking at getting a prius but am worried about cargo area when I'm on a trip with the family. Dog in back cargo area and baby seat in the middle back seat does not leave much room for luggage but I think that pod would fix my issue. I am also thinking about a hitch so I can put a exterior rack behind the back bumper.
My family are on vacation right now in our prius. Its me and the wife, my 14 yo son and my 4 yo daughter. We have a 60 lb dog also. Our trip was 1350 miles one way. We used the Spacebags to condense all our clothes and fit it into the rear cargo space under the rear deck. Other things went into the hatch.
I am wanting to sell my barely used thule crossbars whisper quiet and thule 1800 black box. I used twice. Once to pick up from REI and then on a family trip. Worked great. I just bought an SUV and not needing this setup anymore. $350 for the bars and $400 for the box. Thbanks Aaron [email protected]
