Something is different with the backseats in my new Prius, perhaps the seats are bigger? When I travel, I use the footspaces behind the front seats for items, but I am not going to be able to do that with this new car. The backseat headrests are going to be in the way and not allow the back seats to be flat. Is there an easy way to remove those backseat headrests? I never have people sitting back there. P.S. Hope my description of the problem wasn't too muddy to understand. Thanks!
Yes, I believe the instructions are in the owners manual and more useful than my description. Going from memory....Look at the plastic ring where the headrest posts go into the seat back. IIRC there is a piece you push in to unlatch the headrest so you can remove it.
I removed the centre one. I don't know if you can remove the other 2. When fully extended, it folds 90deg. Maybe that helps?
I've got my 3 back seat headrests resting under the panel in the back, they fit really well back there.
To sum up what xs650 said, the tab you push in to push the head rests down, push the tab and pull the head rest up, they will come out...
