Tonight I will be adding gas for the first time and I think that for least a little while... I would like to keep track of gas mileage. I always have my cell phone (treo 650) with me, so I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good program for monitoring gas usage. I really do not want a lot of bells and whistles... I think that I would simply like to enter: 1) Odometer 2) Fuel added 3) Ability to override automatic date entry Am I missing anything... and do you have any recommendations? /Jim
I tried FuelCalc and it was okay. Take a look at the screenshots: http://www.tucows.com/preview/394571
oh yeah....great idea...must look into this...but if someone has already found the program...wouldn't that be easy?
Kar Kare is a nice program that I use. Can also hold up to 4 cars. It keeps Type LMHD (Diesel) gals price odometer Date There are some other things, but you don't have to access that stuff. http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/6608/
Based on your advice, I downloaded FuelCalc. It seems to do what I was looking for. Thanks a lot /Jim
Here's a late, but strong vote for Palm Fuel Log: Fuel Log Seemed simpler and better than the others to me. At least worth a try before you commit. Now, if I could just export the data to a spreadsheet...somebody must know how to do that! Never mind, I just figured out how to export it as CSV data to the notepad.
I recently switched from Kar Kare to Teal Auto. A problem I notiecd with Kar Kare is tthat the "Average" gas mileage is really the average of the gas mileages rather than total miles divided by total gas. (It is not obvious, I found it when I exported the data brought it into a spread sheet and found the overall averages were different.)
