    Hey guys,

Had my gen2 prius since Jan 2011 and it's served me very well, no complaints, comfortable and good mpg.

Anyway, I want to fit the parrot mki9200 bluetooth system but just unsure how it will be fitted, I cannot see any obvious place on the dash for it to go. I don't want it obstructing my view and don't fancy my dash being cut up to fit it :(

Has anyone had this or something similar fitted? Photos would be a great help. I have one reserved but am unsure whether I should proceed.

    Cheers

UPDATE: Went to get it fitted today but annoyingly the Prius needs a special harness and this costs £65!!!! :(

On the plus side, the kit doesn't need a SOT cable which is around £20.. debating whether to proceed at the moment. I managed to save £20 on the price of the kit so that eases the pain slightly.

LOL nothing is simple! He said this was the first Prius he had been asked to fit one in..

    **FINAL UPDATE**

Don't bother, apparently its very complex in a Prius with the JBL sound system. They advised I needed the £65 cable/harness then they upped the fitting time, at this point I lost interest..

Am now looking for a bluetooth integrated phone system :(

I have the regular radio, not the JBL. And the fitting issue probably has to do with the amplifier.

The MKi9200 has its own amplifier. Which imho sucks and should not be used, ever.
The trick is that the CD/radio plays through its own CD/radio-amplifier but when you play an MP3, the CD/radio amplifier is disconnected and the MKi9200 uses its own amplifier. Same when a call comes in.

Since the JBL has an amplifier, this complicates things seriously.

I added a new aftermarket headunit and rewired the MKi9200 to output its MP3 signal into the AUX-input of the aftermarket headunit. The calls still go through its internal MKi9200 amplifier (and a small speaker tucked away behind the MFDisplay, where the blue-box also resides) while the MUTE signal then mutes the aftermarket headunit.

Here's how the screen is mounted. Can get better pics if anyone needs it (the OP has no need for them ;) ). The know was mounted on the flip-down door of the storage compartment under the radio, but pushing the buttons would open the lid! So I glued it onto the radio (which is unused now I have an aftermarket radio anyway).
