In the owners manual, there are instructions to set all doors to unlock instead of just the driver's door. I followed these instructions. Now all doors unlock with the smart key (grabbing the drivers door handle), but NOT by pressing the unlock button on he fob. Is there a way to unlock all doors by pressing the unlock button on the fob once?
There may be, but I have not found it. It is not an option on TIS that I have found. Just have to push that button twice.
Try hitting the fob "Unlock" button twice in a short interval. That works in other Prius models. JeffD
Yes, that's how my car is--check the customizations chapter in the owners manual (it may need to be programmed by the dealer--can't recall).
Non-menu procedure from page 48 of 2010 (page 72 of 2013) hatchback Owner's Manual: (Did not copy and paste very well because of tables and button images so paraphrasing) Switching the door unlock function It is possible to set which doors the entry function unlocks. Turn the “POWER” switch off. When the indicator on the key surface is turned off, push and hold Lock and Panic buttons or for approximately 5 seconds. The setting changes each time an operation is performed, as shown below. (When changing the setting continuously, release the buttons, wait for at least 5 seconds, and repeat .) Also talked about in this Plug in Prius post found by searching on "Unlock all doors with fob" (second hit on search list). The fob and door handle are independent. The door handle can be programmed by the user. The fob requires tech stream (dealer or otherwise). I was able to find a tech stream cable to borrow and got it done.
Good to know dbddude. I love the detailed info you get from Prius Chat members. Thanks. I also see that you were using the instructions from the Owner's Manual, so my previous post was not needed.
