all, You might remember this thread: Unexplained turtle sighting | PriusChat Well, the matter came to a head last Wednesday when I was just 10 miles away from my first 100k (all my own miles, mind you) and the dash of my 2002 lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree... triangle of death and hybrid warning indicator. The hybrid system still felt fine with no loss of power, so I limped to the local dealer, and they did a battery of tests (so to speak!). The dreaded codes P3002, P3009 and P1636 came back (found these out after the fact when I looked at the invoice). The final verdict: The HV battery had not only failed, it had leaked and taken out the HV ECU with it. Total damage ended up being some $4,100, but being that the car is otherwise immaculate, I went ahead with the repairs, with the result that FINALLY, just today... > > > > Wait for it.... > > > > 100,000 MILESWoohoo!!!And she still drives as sweet as the day I got her... may she go for another 100k.
Congratulations on 100K. I guess you must have been beyond 10 years so the California Hybrid Battery Pack 120 months / 150,000 miles Emission Control Warranty did not apply.
It doesn't matter. Theirs is the NHW11 (1st gen) which didn't receive the 10 year/150K mile HV battery warranty anyway. BTW, it's interesting that the above is your 1st post, more than 6 years after joining...
I like to read a while before joining the conversation. I'm buying my 4th Prius this week, 2005, 2008, 2010 & now a 2012 Plug-In Prius.
