I went to the buyatoyota site. What is this $4k/$5k stuff? I am only seeing $1k off until 12/3.

I think the offer varies from state to state.

From my understanding...East Coasters are the only ones seeing $5k off MSRP.
This Nov 28th article appears to be yesterdays news (x30)....!

...comon out to East Coast for the deal...one CA Prius Chatter drove home from MD...mostly CARB states out here, so like minds...call ahead and be aware some dealers apparently do not play the out-of-state game so you have to find one who plays

Yes, insanely good deals for people looking at a new Prius. Not worth it for me, since the Volt's more in my commute territory. Cold weather and expensive electricity can't be helping push the PiP around here.

I guess they won't give the deals to CAns because they're buying anyway.

$5000 is for the advance model, $4000 is for the regular model.

Just got a call from the dealer in New Jersey. $4K incentive and zero financing has been renewed by Toyota for unstated length of time.

I just checked Toyota's website and for my area, the deal ends 1/2/13.

Dec 14 L.A. Times has an ad for Model 1239A from Keyes in Van Nuys for a PiP list purchase at $35,288 or lease for $348 a month, 36 months, $5,000 down.

Does this mean that the East Coast Toyota incentives are moving West?

Lease numbers are useless without the residual, though paying 18k for 3 years is pretty crazy.
And no, that's just one dealer discounting very heavily. I suspect they have trouble moving these cars and really don't want to get stuck with a 2012 model when the new year rolls around.
Or maybe just a way to get your foot in the door.
