I saw several from the other Prius but V. I am just about to replace mine but have a question. In stead of removing the battery terminal, can I just remove the SRS airbag fuse? It is on page 416 of the manual and the fuse location is #28. Thanks, PS. If I have to remove the battery terminal, I will try not to forget and close the trunk!!
Re. a replacement steering wheel - check out this post. (This poster says he used a leather-wrapped wheel from a standard Prius and it was an easy swap.) Hadn't heard about this - what's the issue here? Trunk gets stuck without battery power? Educate me! Andy
That is the wrong link you sent. You can NOT open the trunk, if the battery terminal is removed! Another words, the trunk is electronic powered open from the outside. Otherwise you have to climb over the rear seat, open the rear panel behind the license plate and manually open it.
Link still works for me - look about 1/3 of the way down the second paragraph. Quoted, just in case it still doesn't work:
JDM Steering Wheel Nigel has about 10 more Piano Black color arriving in a week or two. 5 Standard and 5 Sport. All of them will be available to ship out next week. $210 shipped in 48 states. I want the white silver as seen below but he needs 5 people for group buy.. Sport version with thumb rest at 3 and 9 o'clock.
I use a leather steering off of a 2010 prius that I found on ebay, I just swapped everything over , it all bolts up.
thinking of doing this same thing for my Prius C (which also seems to share the same wheel as the V etc). I'd love the "SofTex" wrapped wheel if possible. Where exactly can one fine a "Toyota Dismantler" to get one used?
