Hi everyone, just bought my new prius c with the extended warranty. Has anyone else purchased it for their prius? If you did, did you guys get any paperwork from the dealership immediately, or from toyota financial services in the mail? I haven't gotten any documents yet, been 2 weeks since date of purchase.
I received a booklet in the mail, titled "Your Platinum Vehicle Service Agreement" with agreement number and other details. I think it showed up 2 or 3 weeks after the purchase date.
I got mine a few weeks after through the mail as well. Comes with a handy card I keep in the glovebox as well.
Just wanted to mention that the dealer I purchased my Prius C2 from didn't sell the extended Toyota warranty. They told me this is just an extension of the standard warranty. They instead sold me an MPP extended service plan, which supposedly goes above and beyond the standard warranty. I bought it because it pays for all my maintenance for up to 6 years or 75,000 miles. The savings from that alone pays for nearly the entire cost of the plan.
Because they are making more money off of the other plan. Did you read all the fine print about what it covers? What the dealer say is irrelevant, what does the paperwork show? I'd cancel any third party warranty. Does that dealer even honor MPP warranty work? You have to take it to their sanctioned repair places or it's not covered. And you better be absolutely sure you get you're maintenance done on time. Miss it at all, and they'll void any claims. That's why dealers push them so hard. Basically free money.
It's applicable at any dealer, we asked. I didn't go over the fine print, but I went through the brochure, which stated the same stuff.
