WOW! 100+ replies, my most successful thread ever, on any forum. Lots of interesting personal views and opinions, guns can be quite a volatile subject....
Keep an eye out for a cheap Ruger Hunter MarkIII please? I need one for work. God damn beavers are eating all my trees and creating barriers for salmon!
g One of the guys that works for me has a son in law that is a gun dealer and he sells to us at his cost on his deals, not new factory stuff but gun show and gun trader deals, I'll have him check on one of these.

I wonder how I could carry some guns on an airplane without a chance of them getting stolen? I bought that 22A a year ago and haven't shot it yet. Definitely going to do some shooting this winter. Mike

Ready myself for "lead therapy" at a shooting range. Six deer ran through the backyard and I stopped them in their tracks with a fawn in distress call. My horses immediately surrounded me as that was a noise they never heard me make - they were definitely confused and curious. Am not licensed yet in the state of CT so they were free to go on their merry way.... I can also get a gobbler in the field to ask me for my phone number, turkey style.... showed my late mom that skill a few years back - told her "to pull over and watch this." I called to a tom and several jakes in a field in perfect "slutty hen style" and she was laughing so hard when the lead tom turkey fanned his tail, drummed and gobbled back as he approached the car... she wanted to know what I said and I said smugly, "He just asked me for my phone number."
Just about everywhere. Hybrid owners are a somewhat narrow demographic. 1. High income 2. High education 3. Mostly Democratic and Independent. Few GOP'ers. 4. Older Explains the general "Huh?" to carrying guns in a car in hopes of fantasy shootouts with bad guys, aliens, etc. Profile of Hybrid Drivers | Hybrid Cars
Guns on a hybrid car forum kind of defines trolling, posting a controversial political off topic thread to get lots of responses. I guess one could call it a trolling success.
Oh God, here I go - I love your posts, Proximal Suns! GOP member, love guns, love the mpgs on my Prius, BTW, love, love love my Prius and have a diesel truck parked in the driveway. Single. Where do I fit in any demographic?
I'd say the "Few GOP'ers" part of the demographics, 14% of Prius owners. 38% Democrats. 34% Independents. They didn't mention sex or ethnicity in the survey, I'd bet more women than men and overall a largely white bread car. I'm sure Toyota knows all. This was the state per capita in 2010. Figures often beguile me, particularly when I have the arranging of them myself; in which case the remark attributed to Disraeli would often apply with justice and force: "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." - Mark Twain's Own Autobiography: The Chapters from the North American Review
Well, back to OP's point. It's obvious that a gun-owning-Prius-driver is not all that unusual. There's a thread on bumper stickers lying around somewhere that had one of my all-time favorites:
