Price Paid on PIP?

Try not to knock Ford too much for that awful experience. There are bad dealers and good dealers for every brand. Just to even things out.

A Toyota dealer I emailed to quoted me MSRP for the PiP. I sent him a competitor's quote and asked if he could beat it. He said he already beat it in the 1st quote he sent me and wrote down another number that was $1k off MSRP. This perplexed me. His original price is MSRP. His second price is $1k off that but he claims there's no change. So I asked him to send me a final OTD price quote. He sent me a third quote that was $53 higher than the competitor's quote I sent him and this time the sale price was $900 off MSRP. I decided to stop dealing with this guy after this. What kind of internet sales manager can't keep track of his own numbers?

Oh and because they won't stop spamming me. I'll name them as Sunnyvale Toyota. I've had my Pip for 45 days now and just last week I got a 4th email from them. "We haven't heard from you, have you made a decision on your vehicle purchase?" I've fill out 3 internet questionaires for them already saying I purchased my vehicle elsewhere and the reasons. It's like emailing their internet sales manager again. They don't listen.

 

im not knocking Ford dealers. just that dude. There are bad dealers everywhere and bad salespeople. I still think that Fusion Hybrid is soo much sexier than any of Toyota's offerings. Prices are still just high now and from what i've been reading ford owners aren't hitting the numbers, not to mention dealers are lucky if they have 1 in stock.

 

I heard the same thing that EPA of 47 MPG is not happening on the 2013 Ford Fusion
Hybrid. It looks like Ford really fudged the numbers, which will hurt their reputation as not being
totally honest with their customers and potential customers.

If we went by the old EPA pre 2008 mpg figures the 2013 Fusion Hybrid would be getting 60 mpg,
hard to believe...

First-post noob here who's been enjoying the forum these past few weeks. Home is Almost Heaven West Virginia, but we're just a stone's throw from Maryland, Virginia & DC. Looking to take advantage of the great incentives right now on the 2012 PiPs. Know I'll have to cross the Potomac into Maryland and head to the city for the best deal.

Currently corresponding with a MD dealer just outside the DC Beltway and wanted to get the forum's input on the following deal...

Discounted Sale Price (before finance rebate...............$31,519.00
Processing fee.................................................................$ 200.00
5% WV Tax.....................................................................$ 1,585.95

Total Cost financed @ 0% APR for up to 60 months.....$29,529.95
Would probably put about $10,000.00 down, lowering the financed amount to around $19,500.00. The above numbers don't include the $2,500.00 Federal Tax Credit or the $7,500.00 West Virginia State EV Tax Credit.
I haven't been in a dealership's Finance Office since 2001, so buying a car is a VERY rare experience for me. Any thoughts? Should I look to do better or should I -- to quote the immortal Steve Miller -- "take the money and run"?

I'd try knocking down the processing fee. But at the same time, for some strange reason buyatoyota.com no longer shows the TFS subvention cash + 0% APR??
But apart from that, I'd say it's a good deal. You're getting $5500 off MSRP. If you look at the spreadsheet, I think the most we've seen is 6k off, and that's all the way up in Boston.
Also, how I wish we had a $7500 incentive here lol.

 

As far as financing is concerned, just be sure to get everything in writing over email before you show up. Don't take any additional warranties, neither the extended warranty nor the extended Toyota Care.

 

I am seeing deals for $27000 (31000 before rebate) around my local dealers, and $25000 ($29000 before rebate) from upstate NY.
I do believe you can do better.
Just looking at the $7500 incentive from WV, you might be the winner for best deal on PiP.

Eh? He wants to just put 10k down. In cash.

 

I mean he's looking at $27,500 basically. So I don't know whether the time is worth it to go all the way to NYC to just save $500.

Edit: from our data, the cheapest purchase so far in the midatlantinc region came from MD for $27,410, basically that $200 bogus doc fee difference. The cheapest purchase from anywhere was from MA, $26,337.

 

Hi all, I'm a noob on here and it's my 1st post. I'm from OC California. I've been looking to get a 2012 basic PIP here but its all sold out except several advanced ones left. But I've seen couple of members on here who have been looking above the horizon and purchasing from out of state. sounds like a great idea but how would the benefits work. if i buy a pip from another state(i.e. nevada), would I still be qualify for a 0% apr here in Cali ? I called a dealer in las vegas but they told there's no 0% incentives there nor $1000 TFS rebate.

Nevada doesn't sell the plug-in.
TFS incentives are based on the state of purchase, not the state of residence.
You remain eligible for the CA CVRP $1500 rebate.
Dianne Whitmire (see recent post from her on this forum) definitely still has vehicles available for sale. However, you can get cheaper prices by going out of state. The best deals are in the northeast/new England/midatlantic regions. You can get decent deals in Oregon, see my posts earlier on this thread (about $5k off MSRP).

Yes. Some dealers will claim that you can't get the promotion, but those dealers are basically idiots. Many of people on this forum have bought out of state cars (in fact, most of the responses on this thread are from people who went out of state).

There are some dealers located in states that do not officially sell the PIP who have gotten them from other dealers in states where the PIPis sold. I ran into a couple in Michigan. But these are not eligible for the large TFS incentives. The $4K/0% TSF incentive in NY was what did it for me.
