In the 2010 Gen 3 the Nav/Audio screen would automatically turn off after a few minutes. Is there any way to have this same setting in the PiP?
I manually turn it off, once you know where the buttons are going to pop up on the screen you can do it pretty fast. Settings-display-screen off
Doesn't save anything. Just that once I've selected the music I want to hear, nice to have a blank screen. 2010 Gen 3 turns display off after about 30 secs if not pressed. Got used to it and wondered if PIP could do same thing. Settings-Display-screen off is the manual way to do it. Automatically would be much nicer.
So you would rather have a blank screen than to look at consumption? Put a piece of cardboard in front of screen, for peace of mind.
Easier to just press Settings-Display-screen off. If I care about consumption I press Car. Usually just constantly glance down to see what song is playing. If screen is blank no temptation to look at anything except the road ahead!
so you're saying if you do this once, the car won't remember that you turned off the screen and will keep it on next time you press any of the buttons? that's odd.
It was called Setup, General, Auto Screen Change in 2010. Can't find anything like this in PIP setup. PIP Nav with Entune is very different from Gen 3 Model III with Nav.
minor correction: *any* car with Entune is very different from Gen 3 with Nav. The liftback Priuses being sold today have the same Entune system and are similarly different from your 2010 Prius.
I realize that now. Not a big deal as I can just manually turn off the display. Auto off was better but just a few screen presses and same effect achieved. It only did it in audio mode. Once you picked the source, in less than a minute the screen would go blank so as not to be a distraction. Pressing Audio would bring it back again and then it would go auto off again when time was up.
