Earlier today I noticed a dead spider in my driver side tail light. It's positioned on outer edge of the main housing near the red section. Is there an easy way to remove it? NOTE: The vehicle is a 2012 Prius v 5 with Advanced Technology Package... With only ~600 miles on the odometer.
Nervous, was there no other way to get it out? I'm curious because I had a little run-in with my trash can and now have a golf ball size hole in the clear plastic lens on the passenger side of same kind of v (Broken tail light lens | PriusChat) Does your receipt/invoice mention a part number btw?
ZPriusV5, Since the tail light is a sealed unit, there was no way to remove the dead spider... Thus, the entire tail light was replaced. Also, I ended up selling the vehicle back to Toyota (and had to surrender all service documentation with the vehicle). So, I don't have the service records to reference... Sorry.
Toyota bought the vehicle back (due to repetitious electrical issues) and I purchased a replacement vehicle. I think it was an isolated case of a bad apple; which would've ended up qualifying for the Lemon Law.
Yes, they bought it back for the same price I paid... The entire transaction was basically a wash for me from a financial perspective.
Yes, the replacement vehicle was also a Prius v 5 with Advanced Technology Package. The only difference being the new one is Barcelona Red and the buy back was Blue Ribbon Metallic. Now my wife's Prius v is Red and my Prius v is Blue; which is what we initially wanted anyways.
I have a spider that shows up in my tail light to say hi every once in a while. I am glad he hasn't died in there. SGH-T999 ? 2
And if you said you do not keep those paper copies ??? They wouldn't buy it back ?? How would they know if you have them or not ?
