It's starting to rain and I had some unused all-weather mats from Sears that I bought years ago. I drew an outline with a marker and cut out a corner piece that fit well. I've been using it for a week and it hasn't moved.
Some time back this same topic came up. Someone built a footrest, like comes in many cars. Might do a search on the topic. I wonder about "lifting" one from a car in the junkyard and planting it in the C. I have not got around to thinking it out yet. Dan
The Floor liner from Weather tech covers about 2/3rds of the dead pedal- I love them and I am so glad I got them before the wet season!
Thanks. After looking at lots of photos and reading lots of info just ordered the husky floor liner which looks to cover even a little bit more of the footrest than the weathertech. Hopefully it will fit snugly and look/feel professional while protecting the carpeted area of the footrest. I'll report back when the mats arrive. thanks!
I tried that. None were of a removable design that didn't require ruining them. I wound up doing something like the OP's fix. I bought a piece from W-Mart for $1.88 to use. I screwed it to my rubber mat, but put it over the mat so the water would dribble on it. It looks a lot better than it sounds, and will do until I get a spare $100 or find a better mat to use. Yeah, I know...Husky Liners, Weather-Tec, etc. But, a quick fix for $1.88? I can live with it for a while.
But with all the money you're saving on gas, that should be one set of floor mats a week! I just picked up the Weathertech with all the money I'm saving on gas!
Yep, the Husky Liners have full coverage of the floor even on top of the fuel door release lever. It is what it truely is - a liner. I even have the useless too-short Toyota weather mats on top of the Husky Liners. I have them bolted in place through their carpet hook holes and into the Husky's raised protrusions for the floor hooks.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with Weathertech or Huskyliners. But in the excitement of getting the C, we went with what we knew before doing a search. We ordered Lloyd mats and I put in the dead pedal from a Subaru (any Subbie, Impreza, Forester, WRX... all the same).
Is it photos of these that you are looking for as a followup? I went with Weathertech and they are wonderful! A perfect fit. I can see about photos tomorrow...
I'm getting a set of these, Husky WeatherBeater Mats, Husky Liners Weatherbeater Floor Mats apparently there is a lifetime warranty on not cracking or breaking. We'll see about that!
