So last Thursday my dad was driving my 2012 Prius v 2 and was rear ended. So my car is destroyed so what would you do should I get the same color and pretend it didn't happen or start fresh and new. I had a blue ribbon metallic also is the entune worth the extra cost. Thanks
welcome to p/c! (if not under the best of circumstances). i would get the same exact thing. but i love my car so you have to base your decision on whether you had any second thoughts. there have been a lot of complaints about entune. i have it but don't have a smart phone, so can't help you with that. all the best!
It is just a car. If you liked it, go to the dealer and find another one you like. If they don't have one that trips your trigger, have them find one for you. The old one is gone. There would be no purpose served to pretend it didn't happen.
Entune is fun sometimes and other times it is annoying. If there are other options in the package you like then go for it. As for color, it's up to you. The red with panoramic roof looks nice and its less common than white.
I recently lost if a game of tag with an 18 wheeler, and replaced my 2009 Gen 2. It gave me a chance to decide what was important to me. I considered a PIP, but got a v.
Bummer on the crash, hope everyone is OK. I would not get the exact same car. I've done that in the past and it's kind of eerie and overly familiar; at least a new color or feature set will delineate and mark a new and hopefully safer chapter in your lives.
White may be overly common but lighter/brigher colors are safer because they're more visible especially at night when visibility is lowest. Anecdotally my sister and her husband always had black cars and have been rear ended several times each, she changed to white and have been fine since. My father drives a black suv that's been rear ended twice and also has a white sedan that's never had a scratch. A close friend and his wife that's had more accidents than anyone I know has a black suv and black sedan - and continues to buy black cars even after totaling the last one. Guess what color car I've been driving for the past 10 years? Yeah, white.
And red provides little contrast to brake lights...guess which color I totaled a Porsche into. I bought a V Three and added WeatherTech floor and cargo mats and dealer installed SofTex seats since I have grandkids that are sure to spill. I really haven't used the GPS functions that much yet (prior generation Avalon version I hate, TomTom I love) to be able to judge its accuracy. I do like the controls and am tempted to install the passenger-use-while-driving override switch. Also wish there were Daylight Running Lights though I did get a white exterior. When I totaled the Porsche, I replaced it with another of similar color but slightly different features. No bad karma other than being lightly rear-ended 3 months later and feeling jinxed. But never thought about any real issues with replacing like with like.
Update ordered my new one today surprise from the dealer it's a 2013 Prius v not V for the Prius v wagon 3 with remote start blue ribbon metallic
Congrats! And good luck with the new car. Accidents and close-calls give a whole new perspective (at least for a few hours or days) on life and whats truly important... Hope your dad is ok.
