Yep, that's the purpose. Unless it deviates too far as some religious themed threads did earlier this year. The mods went nuclear and wiped all of those off the face of the Chat. Don't think it would happen with guns - because guns are harmless (away from human hands, anyway).
In this section I understand we can speak whatever we want as long as it isn't anything illegal. I like to use those smiley things as text doesn't show emotion and things can get ugly real quick if someone reads a reply and doesn't understand a person's emotions whether good or bad. Mike
You'd be surprised what ticks off the mods, Mike. They just don't dig the warfare between the faithful and the deniers. It was fun while it lasted but I believe it was getting WAY too much attention and the mods (maybe justifiably so) decided enough was enough and cleansed the site thoroughly until the religious banter was extinguished. The Phoenix rises from the ashes occasionally but the mods are very watchful now and kill new threads before they grow out of control. It was a real hoot - and I don't think anyone's feelings were hurt - it just got to be too much for Priuschat.
Only people who will be kicking your door down and threatening family will be DEA agents and local "drug warriors" operating on the no warrant home invasion and property seizure. Most of the violence gun owners fear is the result of the guns themselves and perpetrated on family members due, in many cases, to the irrational fears, shooting their kids sneaking home from a late date, mistaking their kids for the fantasy home invaders.
Mostly.....that's true. Unfortunately.....there are some folks out there that just don't play nice with others. They go running to the mods with tear-streaked cheeks trying to get this thread deleted or that poster sanctioned. Evidently......some folks out there don't like the first or the second amendment.... The reason that there are moderators to begin with is that some folks get rather passionate with their opinions. This page and FHoP_P serve as a relief valve of sorts and allow blow hards like myself to ply their trade and still avail themselves of Priussy things in the other parts of the forum. Take Proxy for example...... He and I probably do not agree on much politically however (comma!!!) he has just as much right to misquote statistics as anybody else. I will NEVER advocate that somebody remove a thread or a post unless they touch a third rail. Usually? If you get somebody that's trying to stamp out the free exchange of thoughts and ideas? Their thoughts and ideas need a little work. Great topic.....for the Pancake House. Maybe not so much so for the G3 main forum. Folks over there get their little feelings hurt juuuuuuust a little too easily. By the way...Proxy....what do you consider to be a BIG (or powerful) weapon? You've mentioned big and powerful a few times. I'm not going to change out my sidearm or anything I'm just curious as to learn what you consider to be big and/or powerful WRT firearms. Is my single-action Colt .22 OK to have? I have a Muzzle Loader.....how about those? I've never been wild about archery. Too hard to work a recurve bow inside a little car....but how do you feel about those? .....Wrist Rockets?
Although I'm not participating in this thread, I thought the original post by kubel at My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - Gun discussion goes here was funny. I'm not sure why he removed "The perplexion..." text in his original post. It was definitely there before. The OT gun posts in various threads seemed to upset some of the moderators there, so they started a thread "Gun discussion goes here" and moved all the posts there. They made it seem like Roadburner440 started the thread even though he didn't...
Thanks, like hearing about a bad accident on my commute home path, I'll take another route. <GRINS> Bob Wilson
Hi Bob, Got that right. My previous run in with a Leaf owner was, shall I say kindly, not that good of an experience. Enjoy the weekend, Mike
I enjoy shooting and hunting... I have shocked many drivers when I come out of the woods, shotgun over my shoulder (unloaded of course, just walking home from my tree stand) and pull off my hat and they see I am a chick... In my new location I have to find a group of hunters or a range as I miss target practice and venison processing with friends after a day in the fields/woods....
My aunt Sandra has a bigger antler rack on the wall than uncle Frank . . . and she lets us know it. <grins> Bob Wilson
