I'm 6' 3" and love it. It is my drum set while listening to the JBL system. I do wish the arm rest had more padding. But I just put a towel on it.

You can buy a lot of gas for the $2,000 you would spend to mod the car. Maybe the Gen 3 Prius is not the car for you.

The Sienna is a super comfortable vehicle for long trips. Tons of room inside. It can get 27-28 mpg if driven nice :)

i would go with the tacoma over the sienna.

all joking aside, i got the car. after a few seat adjustments (angle of the bottom of the chair was a big help), i was able to find a position where my knee was comfy. also on the test drives, the dealer had the floor mats upside down which made my shoes slip around, and i had to jam my knee up against the console just to keep my foot from slipping around. with the carpet down now, its much better.

also, i found a extend my seat product on the prius chat shop, which i will be installing (when it gets a little warmer out) for some more comfort. it looks like due to the way the console is shaped, the further back you go, the more knee room you have.

i've been driving it to and from work 60+ miles a day and it has been very comfortable. but a few more inches would be nice. one thing i've noticed is that being so tall, the visibility out of the front when i sit up all the way straight is kinda hindered. the further back i lean my seat (or the more i slouch) the more windshield i see, and the less car i get in the periphs. im gonna definitely install that seat extender in a little while.

I also am in that minority that likes the flying buttress of the Prius. My 2008 didn't have it. I really like it in my 2011. I drive a lot. I bought my car on January 8th, 2011 (the King's birthday) and have put 26k miles on it already. I'm 6'1" tall and have found that it just doesn't get in my way as much as I thought it would. The cup holder inside of the armrest is a fail for me.

I definitely agree with the cupholder thing; i've already set my ipod in a cup I had there! luckily i had already finished drinking the water.

Here is a phone holder I bought ($7.96 + S&H) and stick it in the forward cup holder on the console. It shows it in the horizontal position. I use it vertically.

My only problem with it is that because of the folding cup holder cover, it doesn't seat as well as it could. Sometimes it flops backwards. If you use it in the back one it should work great. I find that the back one isn't as convenient for viewing my iPhone.

Read through this thread pretty fast but I don't think I've seen this mentioned here yet... has anyone tried these? Don't know if they would fit a 2012.

I was a bit alarmed when I first saw the "flying buttress" console (during an up close and personal to different Prii at a dealership, prior I was just watching them whizz by without a thought of what was inside but I liked the exterior design of the hatchback) but grew to love it quickly once it was mine. My passengers also noted it, commented, thought about it then commented that it was "cool".

Just another feature of my "new girl" that I love...

Actually, my wife and I both like it. She especially likes the spot underneath for locating her purse, whether she's driving or in the passenger seat. It gets the purse nicely out of the way, yet close at hand. Also, the cupholders on top of the console are in places that seem convenient for us.

Nice. Not so much here... my wife really liked it at first but now won't even drive it. That might have come from me complaining about the FE tanking after she used it but I am not sure. ;)

guess what . . . whether or not the fly bridge is there or not - the storage area will still be there. In late 2009, I passed up an indescribable deal on a super early release of one of the 1st (metallic beach sand advanced package) Gen III's. IF I even had the vision to dream of removing the fly bridge I would have gone thru with the deal ... despite the other detractors.

The console is what drew me to the Gen III, I thought it looked more modern and upscale, I did not like the video game apperance of the dash on Gen II.
I travel 4.5 hours twice weekly on my out of town work commute and I feel like the new design puts the radio and climate controls closer to hand.
