My dealership is holding one of these later this month. Anyone ever attended one? Is there any value, other than free hors d'oeuvres? It seems unlikely I'll get better advice on fuel economy than here! "Welcome to the Toyota Family... It's Time To Celebrate! You and a guest are invited to join us for a very special event created just for new Toyota owners. Let us introduce you to your vehicle's features, maintenance needs and warranty coverage, and receive answers to all your questions and more. We are committed to providing you the best ownership experience possible. At the event you will learn how to: Optimize your fuel economy Protect your investment through proper maintenance Make the most of your vehicle's technology and safety features Maximize the dependability of your Toyota with Genuine Toyota Parts and factory-trained technicians Schedule a service appointment and where to go Plus you'll have a chance to: Obtain answers to any questions about your new Toyota Meet our highly trained technicians who will service your Toyota."
It is important to meet your "highly trained technicians" as at 30,000 miles you may have to talk them into changing your Transaxle fluid with ATF WS.
First, welcome and congratulations on your new purchase. Quite a few on here have attended these events and found it quite useful.
Just got an invite from my Toyota dealer scheduled for this week. About the only value I see out of it is the Free car wash and the stale donuts. Other than that, they might become urked when I tell them I have a scan guage connected to the OBDII port and I have my tires jacked up beyond the pressure suggested by Toyota on the door jam. The new Alpine DVD in place won't help... In regards to the car questions, their probably going to quote me passages directly from the car manual. I think I will pass....
