Hi all, i'm planning to get my first Prius soon. I'm debating between the four and five, since the five has the LED light. I'm driving a lot at night and i'm used to to the HID lights of my previous car. Is the LED worth it or significantly better than the halogen of the four? thanks all!!
Now that it is dark early in the evening go to a dealer & see the difference for yourself. The LED will be a brighter, whiter light. Does the headlight justify the price difference? I doubt it, but a number of little things add up.
Prior to my Prius V (w/ LED headlights), I've driven cars with HIDs for a long time, and once you're used to not having halogens, going back is very tough. It's one of the reasons I got a V.
There are aftermarket kits. You can swap out headlights pretty easy. I would not buy a car just because of the lights it is like buying a car because you like the floor mats. Headlights after all fail and need to be replaced so they are designed to be easy to replace
