I'm just going to go ahead and be the first to welcome you to the PiP family. Your Eibachs and 16" Weds will go nicely on your new PiP.
I have a 100k mile/7 year extended warranty on my current Prius. Does anyone know if that can be transferred to a new PiP as I haven't even used it yet?
You can get some kind of prorated refund on your extended warranty, IIRC Not a Toyota.. but an example (Audi in this case): Refund for Extended Warranty (California) - A5_OC Here's another example.. and from Seattle, WA: MBWorld.org Forums - View Single Post - No refund on extended warranty..even I've only owned the car for 1 yr?
I figure that I haven't even used it yet as I'm still under the original factory warranty. I'm hoping that I can cancel it or transfer it. Looking at the EV parts warranty though I'm wondering if it's really even worth it?
Me personally? I don't think it is. Most of the vehicle due to its EV nature is covered to 10 years/150k miles anyway by CARB regulations. I'd try getting more for the trade-in so that they can then resell it to whichever sucker buys the used Prius. I'm sure they'll have a much easier time selling it than you will…
With the standard warranty on the hybrid components (the parts I'd be most concerned with), I'm OK going without the extended warranty. But you have until the end of your 3 year/36k warranty to decide if you want an extended warranty. So you might as well try and get the refund now and not worry about transferring it or anything.
I remember the finance guy had some ECUs on his desk as props. And mentioned how the cost to replace one of them is more than the cost of the extended warranty. and i thought to myself – right, and it's covered for a longer period than the extended warranty is. NEXT!
Also, I've created a Google doc that has the info from all the people who have posted in this thread. Might be useful to those who are shopping around now. All prices include TFS rebates but NOT federal/state incentives. PiP pricing cheers
Stupid sandy delayed my car buying. I'm going to the dealer Friday morning. I'll report back this weekend.
Is this a good price? I live in Kentucky and I am planning to buy the car from Maryland. I was quoted this price. Thanks again to all of you I was able to find this dealership and get this quote. I hope to get the $2500 fed tax credit on the final price when I file tax return. my 2012 withholding can support this amount . The only problem is I have to finalize this before this Saturday (11/3) and drive 500 miles each way to get this car but I think the trip is worth. Dealer said knock $200 off the price for other colors. Quick reply is appreciated. Color Blizzard Pearl Model Base plugin MSRP: $33,240 Discount: $2,982 (Dealer discount) Rebate: $3,500 (TFS 0% loan) Sale Price: $26,758 MD Processing fee: $200 Toyota Freight/Destination: $795 Tax (KY @ 6%): $1,794.96 Tag Fee: $359 Final Price: $29,906.96
I have not made up my mind about the pearl, the dealership seems to have other colors too so I might change my mind when I see the car in real, then I save 200
Mine didn't come with 5 floor mats. I chose to do that instead because I was going to get all-weather mats. If yours include the mats, that's another $200.
