I seem to remember a low fuel warning light coming on when I first got my v. Now I have none, even on startup. Could one kind soul verify that such a warning lamp exists? TIA ADR6400L ? 2
do not know about the v, but on my gen II and pip, the last pip starts flashing and there is a single very soft beep with about 2 gallons left. no warning light.
The v does have a low fuel indicator. It comes on when the range is down to about 10 miles. It is next to the fuel gage, the first bar.
The low fuel light does not come on at startup. I believe it looks like a little gas pump but, I haven't seen it in a long time so I could be wrong. When it comes on, you won't miss it. You must let you range go down to about 10 miles to get it to light. My dealer didn't believe there was one based on the information they had.
Confirmed. I ran my gas tank fairly low and saw an orange Fuel Indicator next to the last bar of the tank and I was under 15 miles. It does not light up when you start the car.
Hey all, new v owner here. Does anyone know the fuel capacity once the indicator is about to reach zero? Is it something similar to a traditional gauge where 'E' really means there is a gallon or two left? Or does zero mean you are in imminent danger of running out of gas? Thanks!
I ran my fuel down while watching the range remaining. The range was 27 miles when the fuel gage went from 2 bars to 1, 17 miles when the low fuel warning came on, and when I filled the tank @15 miles left, it would only take 9.9 gallons. ADR6400L ? 2
For Canadian reference, I let my tank run down till the fuel light came on last night. 25km left on the range indicator and the low fuel light came on. Filled up with 15km left showing on the range and it took 38 liters(45 liter tank?).
Mine came on last week for the first time. It came on just as I was pulling into a gas station. The dashboard said I had about 15 - 20 miles of gas left. Don't recall the exact number. I filled the tank and it only took 9.9 gals. If the tank is actually 11.9, then I still had 2 gals left and over 100 mi.(my overall average is about 50.5). 2 gallons left when the light comes on is consistent with other cars I have owned.
Today was my first day to see one pip, then the low fuel light with 10 miles left. (orange gas pump across from E, like the white pump across from F) I was down to 4 miles left, it took 9.985 US gallons.
My warning light came on when the dashboard "range" indicator said I had 14 miles left. I drove 2 more miles and then was able to squeeze 9.9 gallons of gas into the tank. It's probably safest to simply assume the car holds a maximum of 10 gallons, rather than the advertised 11.9 gallons. I'd be interested to hear from someone who ran the car dry and how many gallons it took to fill it up.
I drove mine about 5 km past the "0 Km" remaining on the range indicator. When I filled it up I was able to put 40L in it. I wouldn't want to drive too much past "0".
Here is a picture of the little orange low fuel light. There was also a "ding" when it came on. Needed 10.006 gallons to fill the tank.
