Took a test drive of a Prius C the other day and liked it nearly as much as the full sized Prius. However, during my limited fiddling with the display options, I couldn't find a screen that showed your instantaneous gas mileage like in the regular Prius. Did I somehow miss it, or did Toyota choose not to give the C that feature? Thanks
I wondered the same thing when I bought my PriusC in August. The screen you are referring to, and a few others, are there but are not enabled by default. In the menu system, you can turn them on.
The Five Minute Consumption Screen, I believe, shows instantaneous mpg. It doesn't show the exact number, but there is a bar (from 0-99) that moves up and down as you press and release the pedal.
Still something like a ultra gauge or scan gauge would be helpful. Not only will you be able to is instant mpg as a number but it can also show you rpms which the C does not show you any where.
I don't think there is any instant mileage readout on theC- 2 other than the 5 minute bar. If there is I have not found it. The Ulta Gauge is very small and easy to mount where it can be seen. Has a tach and many other gauges. Not as good as the ScanGauge but for 60 bux, a real bargain. Dan
I have to agree, and I'm pretty sure I've explored every screen option there is. If there is such a thing (other than the 5 minute thing), I sure wish B5 Fan would elaborate about turning them on from the menu settings...
I'm still wondering if we're all looking at the same thing but interpreting it differently, or if there's actually a difference. On the five minute screen, there is a column labelled "Current" that seems to show instantaneous MPG (or l/100km in my case) as its own column on the chart, which goes up and down in line with pedal input and other factors, as Ashley7 described. I assume this is what B5 Fan was talking about.
Thanks for the clarification, Rob. I've never actually used that screen, so was unaware of how it behaved.
Rob you should post some pics so we can see if its the same. I sounds like its the same but Toyota does weird this with its cars in different countries. Even when they border each other, The Canadian & US Prius C are different. makes me wonder how different our cars could be.
I'm more confused than before,I have a screen like that but is on the radio screen, not the upper screen.I guess I don't really need to worry about it as I just ordered the scangauge2 the other day.Now if I can figure it out when it arrives.
