I have a 2011 Prius III without Nav. It has bluetooth pairing, and pairs with the Galaxy Nexus phone (android) to make and receive calls just fine. However, there seems to be no way to play music through the phone? (I currently have an audio cable which I plug into my phone. But for various reasons, this is far from an ideal solution for me.) I have contacted the Toyota dealership where I bought the Prius and they seem to think this does not work. However, can this really be the case? (1) Is there something I'm missing in order to play music through bluetooth on my phone? (2) If there isn't, what are my after-market options for doing so? (I don't need navigation or anything else.) (I tried searching for previous topics but couldn't find anything relevant. Apologies if this is a repeat.)
For question 1, does the 2011 III have a touch screen display? If so you can go into your options, phone settings, bluetooth settings, and then enable your phone for audio. I apologize if this doesn't work as I have 2012 III that comes auto with a touch screen and don't know if it translates back to 2011 as well.
I have no touch screen display at all. Everything is voice navigated, and I have not found anything that allows enabling phone for audio.
