I was getting new tires recently and the tech pointed out that the arm that connects the height sensor to the axle assembly had broken. I went by the dealership as well as searched online and it appears that only the entire assembly ($400 dealer, $280 3rd party) is for sale. Has anyone found a place to replace just the rubber arm?
OP.......u can Try a junk yard, ebay, amazon etc. Check u might want to check the private sales section here on the forum
Thanks, I'll look around. Not sure if this is needed, but a mechanic noticed it had broken. The sensor appears to be fine, just the arm broke.
I was checking my rear brakes on my 2004 I bought last week. Checking the left rear I noticed the lever has snapped off. Took it off and I too thought they would have just the arm assembly but no go. Well the eye to eye measurement is approx 2 1/2 inches. Easy to cobble up using two heim joints or throttle linkage kit. Right now just finding the right size...will update...
I replaced the height sensor because water got in an corroded the potentiometer. I kept the part, but finally threw it out. A couple years later the arm on my 2nd sensor froze and broke. Fortunately the sensor is frozen in a position that passes inspection so its not going to get fixed. The word sensor is from the Greek meaning $500 dollars.
Does this sensor control anything else? The rod between the suspension and the sensor is after disconnecting on ours, and it was picked up on during our NCT. the tester told me when he touched it, the engine revved up. Why this would be if it is only for the main lights I don't know
