I have most annoying problem. If I connect my completely discharged iPhone to Prius USB it will eventually charge but it also erases all my contacts and quick contacts. I can download my contacts (although it takes for ever) but I have to enter quick contacts manually. This is a big bug.
It is less of a bug and more of a problem of Apple not following USB specs and over-currenting the USB port to charge the dead phone. This results in a power loss to the unit, which will lose the settings in the volatile memory, such as contacts. Get a phone that follows the global standards, or buy a USB car adapter and charge through the auxilliary port (cig lighter).
Thanks. Good advise. Not easy to changer the phone with 2 year contract but easy enough to get USB car adapter. Do you know a way to upload speed dial numbers or do I have to enter them manually every time?
