After several months of deliberation, we got our new Prius v tonight. It is Barcelona Red and I love the color. It's a 5 without the ATP, dark grey Softex. I test drove one with ATP and I really liked it but it was just a bit too pricey. Here's a pic:
Congrats... I like Barcelona Red Metallic on the Prius v! My wife and I originally wanted 1 Blue Ribbon Metallic and 1 Barcelona Red Metallic, but we ended up getting 2 Blue Ribbon Metallic (because Barcelona Red Metallic wasn't available for ~3 months).
Yep, Jayhawks, I went for a V as well. I liked the c max, I loved the Prius C, but in the end I went for the V. It's a great car. I hope you like yours.
Congratulations! I love the Barcelona Red also. If I had seen a Barcelona Red close up on the dealer's lot I may have changed my mind. Especially since my school, NC State, is red and white !
Welcome....also have a "v"5 no ATP....now the "mileage arcade game" begins...I have never been so "into" getting the best mileage out of an automoble ever...!!!!! FWIW....make certain you have enough air pressure in the lowprofile tires....all sorts of opinions on this forum....but at least what the mfg. suggests..... What do you think of the abundance of "owner's manuals"...????
Thanks all. Loving it so far. I've been driving it through rain storms today. Yes, it has plenty of manuals! Since we have a Camry Hybrid, most things operate pretty much the same, although I have learned a few new tricks. Took me awhile to program the Homelink on the mirror but my fault -- I kept doing A or B and I was supposed to be doing A and B. The Barcelona Red really pops! Blizzard Pearl was my other choice, but I'm glad I went this direction.
Jayhawks, remind me, did you ever actually test drive a C Max? If so, what did you think, and why did you end up going with the Prius over all other options?
Hey, KU wears red too! libmanj, I never did end up test driving the C-Max. I talked to my local dealership but the few they had went out the door before I had a chance to test drive it. I test drove the v several times and decided I really liked it. Also, I like the size and useable space in the v and it fit the bill for what we wanted.
Also, I haven't seen a Blue v around here yet. The dealership said this was the first red one they've sold.
Blue v's are rare in Phoenix, but I just got passed by one on the highway tonight. The C Max is a cool car too. I can see certain people selecting it over a Liftback or a Prius v.
By the way, thanks to Prius Chat for the tip on having the dealership change the reverse beep setting to one beep. I barely notice it.
I have a Barcelona Red V too wish I would have gotten the Softex seats. I have found the back seats vacuum well and most dirt comes out. Our dog jumped back there with mud one time and luckily the seats vacuumed well. The fabric reminds me of microfiber not sure if it is though.
I've had the car a little over a week and I am loving it. The MPGs keep going up! I like the softex and it's great for kids (teenagers now but they are still capable of making a mess where ever they go). The dark grey looks sharp with the red exterior.
