Just took delivery of a new Prius package Four with moonroof on Saturday. Neither of us liked the the stock wheels at all (due to the plastic wheel covers) so we had a set of 15" American Racing AR896 installed today (shown on the picture). We also had 3M tint applied to the back windows and rear window. Only got a little over 100 miles on to date, but we are very happy with it so far and are looking forward to greatly reduced fuel costs (replaced a Lexus RX 330). Did plenty of research on pricing and visited a few local dealers and ended up with a price I'm happy with (I could only take talking to so many car salespeople!) I'd be interested to hear any comments on what people think of the wheels.
Looks good! What % is the tint? I just traded in a Honda pilot for a 2010 Prius and am loving the fuel savings!
It's 80% (or 20% which ever way it is they call it) - only lets 20% of the light through. It's 3M and came with a warranty from 3M.
I think they are a little over 17lbs each - weight wasn't a factor in the choice it was replacement wheels at a reasonable price that we both liked aesthetically. They were about $560 installed with different lugs required.
The wheels are beautiful compared to the steel/plastic stock wheels. However, at our age, we try not to look at our wheels and just drive the Prius. Glad to see that you didn't apply tint to the front-side windows. Those frighten me especially when on the motorcycle. Nice looking car and welcome to the group.
It has the lit door sills & preferred premium accessory package ( mats, cargo net & mat, first aid kit). MSRP is $33652 - we paid $31200. I did have a lower quote online - about $30,500 (without the door sills & accessory package) - but I could only take so many car salespeople & this dealer give me an upfront out of the door price when I asked them.
I just bought a Four too. Mine is Silver. But goodness, the price I paid in a cash deal was appox. $26,800.00. The only extras mine has are the lighted sill gizmos and the carpeted floor mats and cargo mat. I assume the OP must have gotten the sunroof option??
Yes it has the deluxe solar roof package & the blizzard pearl is a "special color" (which means they charge for it)
That explains it. Great car. I am very happy. The power seat is much more comfortable than the seat in my old Gen 2 package 2.
We personally feel they look so much better than the stock wheels / covers, that was the one thing that neither of us liked about the look of the car and was something we wanted to change straight away.
