Well today I received my INA-Z928HD and my perfect fit kit from Alpine. I absolutely love this radio with its huge 8inch display! The features this radio has are amazing. HD radio, Bluetooth, Pandora, all my factory steering controls work flawlessly with the Alpine as well. I cant thank Alpine enough for the perfect fit kit that they released for our vehicles, it came with everything I needed to install into my car.

I had the same unit installed in my 2012 Prius 2 on Friday. It took me a while to configure all the options available. The only issue I had was getting the direct connect backup camera to work, the AUX camera was configured as the rear camera. Once I turned the AUX off, it allowed me to configure the direct connect camera to be the rear camera.

Where did you mount the microphone for the bluetooth? I had the installer mount mine in the factory position in the overhead lights panel.

    BlackSpade,
Great install with an AWESOME unit! Did you install yourself? What was the difficulty level?

I waited and waited for that model to be released. Original launch date was April.

The stock unit was too irritating for the wait so I gave up and went with something.

Glad to see that it is finally here. Looks very nice.

That new trim bezel looks like it will work just fine on the Ipad mini ; )
Who's will be first to try?

Your setup does look great with the larger screen size.
The bezel can be found at Crutchfield.

Yeah I installed it myself, I work for a local car audio shop. It was a breeze to install, Alpine was nice enough to include the wiring harness, antenna adapter, and the module to make the steering controls work flawlessly.

I mounted my mic on the windshield in the small gap between the mirror and the headliner. We install radios with Bluetooth on a daily basis. From doing so we have found for it to sound the best it should be installed in that location.

WOW!! I didn't know they made such a trim panel and a such a huge screen. It looks perfect. I have a GEN3 IV so I have BT, Navi + back up camera. Can I reuse the mic in my car already instead of the one provided?

Just bought a 2010 Prius two weeks ago and i really want to replace the OEM unit. I was seriously considering going with a Pioneer HU (AVH-4400BH) until I found this thread. The Alpine unit with the trim kit looks killer! I noticed that they mention it will not fit in cars with the JBL system. Is this true? Also, does the Alpine unit support video from iPhone/iPad apps like Netflix? The Pioneer unit does with the right cable. Thanks.

Great to see Prius getting better after-market support.

Sweet! Can you post a review of the Alpine, with any bugs or glitches you find?

I may be wrong, but the bezel rrg posted looks different from the one black spade has. The top of the bezel black spade has seems to protrude out, while the one rrg posted seems to recess in. So I'm wondering if they are 2 different styles. Anyone else see this?

I have the same setup. Alpine has the Perfect Kit KTX-PRS8-S that makes the install plug and play. It includes the wiring harnesses and the steering wheel adapter module. If I recall, there are only three wires that have to be connected to the car (Emergency Brake, Brake and Vehicle Speed Sensor). All other connections are through the wiring harness, which is plug and play.

The top of the bezel protrudes outward and the image rrg posted is the same, but the lighting/shadow makes it look like it is recessed.

For those that have installed the Alpine INA-Z928HD are you still happy with it, any issues? Also what features did you give up by removing the factory HU, I programmed like my door locks to work like I wanted and so forth, did yours default to what you had set or is there a different way to do this?

    No XM?

Does the system show the car consumption and stuff on the screen?
