Qualified Independent Prius Repair Shops

I have owned my 2004 Prius for over 8 years and interacted with many Prius Chatters over those years. We often complain about the behavior of many Toyota dealers (there are some good ones). In those discussions several very good independent hybrid repair facilities are often suggested. I thought that it would be useful to collect that information in a tread.

Here is my list as a start (not in any particular order):

• AutoBeYours in Scottsburg, IN. Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle PHEV
  Steve's (the owner) main business is bringing salvaged Prii back to life, His competency and warehouse full of salvaged parts makes him a great resource.
• Taylor's Auto in Sanford NC. Home Page
  The original home of ReInVolt and a source of re-manufactured and redesigned HV batteries for Honda Civics and Prii. They are knowledgeable and can do most repairs on a hybrid. They were the source of the battery currently in my Prius and they gave me great service. Dorman is the successor to their rebuilt HV battery business.
• Mellor's automotive in West Melborne, FL.
  They have given good service to several Prii owners at a reasonable price.
• Luscious Garage in San Francisco, CA.
  Many Prius owners report positively on their knowledge, great service and reasonable prices.
• Art's Automotive in Berkeley, CA
  Another highly thought of hybrid repair facility in California
• Avi's Advanced Automotive in Tujunga, CA
  Avi has been very helpful to many members of PriusChat
