friends. This morning I have been searching threads for far too long and still have not come up with an answer to an issue I'm hoping to correct concerning the rear center console/cup holder thingie. When I purchased the car this piece had obviously already had an issue because it falls out very easily. I keep shoving it back in there but it just falls out - pulls away from the console and falls down to the floor. Does anyone know how to repair the rear center console so that it stays in place? Thanks a million in advance! Julia
Wow Julia, I've had my Prius for 3 years and never even knew it had that rear cup holder. Anyway I just took a look and it seems that mine just has two little "bumps" moulded into the plastic of the piece that pulls down, and two corresponding little ridges where it pushes in. That's all it seems there is that makes it "click" into place. Can you check if any of those "bumps" or ridges are missing from yours. In any case, it needs very little force to retain it, so if nothing else you could always just glue a small piece of velcro to each side. I'm sure that would hold it.
Yep, great for hiding stuff that one.. BTW. I only found it after a tip off from one of the threads on these forums.
Doing lots of Pulse & Glide around 35mph (31-39 range) on my daily commute. However, if you click where the links go, you'll see I now have a 4kwh PHEV conversion. My current tank as of this morning's stats: last filled: 8/7/2012 gas used to date: 7.92 gallons (per Scangauge) miles traveled since fill-up: 1827 .433 gal/100 miles or... 230.7 mpg! I'll probably need to fill-up in the next week or so.
