You are lucky, I asked my dealership today. They said that they got an order number with production scheduled for end november-december and possible delivery january-february.

Well, I guess that am getting a 2012 model only in 2013 :(

Neither did I (but when I found out that the HUD required a different windshield, one that was specially coated to allow the HUD to be viewed in different lighting with the utmost clarity, I understood why they didn't include it). It could be an installation cost (so they wanted to keep costs down so that the Tech Pack and PHV Tech Pack would still be appealing and "relatively" affordable) and replacement cost would be higher should it need replacement. My guess is what you said in the last sentence.

This is my 3rd winter (only one had hit -40°C) and so far still on the original windshield (acoustic laminated).

Picked up our PiP this morning at the Richmond, BC dealership -- apparently the first one sold in British Columbia (doesn't include fleet vehicles leased out for research & testing). Apparently supply is very limited; something about the US market getting first dibs (?). First charge was good for about 17 km.

    Congratulation!
Maybe even the first one in Canada

There is not exactly a shortage in the US. Dealers everywhere have dozens of them on their lot, and they are trying to push them with very generous leasing terms.

Congrats, I'm still waiting... We need more details, you're the first Canadian PHV owner here...

    Hi Swanny, details are:
    - Classic Silver Metallic
    - regular package (not "technology package")
    - no mods
    - hilariously, we don't have access to a plug at home yet: we're in an apartment, and now have to negotiate with the landlord about being able to use the plugs downstairs. I'm sure that won't be a problem. :)

The sales guy said the employees at that particular dealership haven't yet received their detailed training on the vehicle, so perhaps we got lucky somehow. (I imagine Toyota wouldn't start shipping in earnest in Canada, until the training rolled out.) We'd put a deposit down in mid-2011 so maybe that also affected things?

Nice! And what about the standard equipment (remote a/c? Homelink?)? Is there anything different than on the US car?

For what it's worth, I had placed a preorder a bit late (mid-August) and was told that Toyota Canada is a bit behind on the preorders and they have been told to expect the order to arrive in early 2013. I'm not sure if I can wait that long and might have to cancel (I live on both sides of the border and so could easily pick one up stateside instead) but they were able to confirm that it would at least be a model year 2013 if I could wait until early next year to receive my preorder.

timriley, for what it's worth, my dealer confirmed a few days ago that my car has been built, and is "on sea". So my order from July will be here by the end of November, so with any luck you may see yours mid-December.

Thanks, 13plug! That's good to know. My dealer did tell me though that there is a shipment on its way here (Alberta in my case) but the ones Toyota are releasing here are a fleet batch as Toyota is backed up... well, at this point as long as my order is a 2013 model I think I might be ok with waiting until Q1'13...
