Just wondering from anyone out there in the ether, whether they have ordered from Michael's and how long the wait was...any clue as to when I could expect mine? Can't hardly wait!
Ordered my Silver #9 from Michaels Toyota in Bellevue on October 29th. I picked it up yesterday. Seemed like a long wait. They were fair and honest with me, but knew a little less than me sometimes. what a great help this board has been in getting through this. Limited myself to the single color and package and braced myself for the wait. They did add the Prefered Options Package (floor mats, rear mat, cargo net and first aid kit) and the Glass Breakage Sensor as Port options after I had said many times that I did not want them. Paid the price (about $400) without much complaints... Probably about $200 more than what I would have paid for the mats alone at a place like ToyotaParts.com... I'd do it again... One day, back and forth to work (37 degrees in the morning and high fifties on the way home) and it says 48.1 mpg... Worth the wait...
Thanks aja. I'm dreading waiting upward of six months. ouch. They told me that their allocation was increasing (15 this month) and at the very latest I could expect mine by July. boy, I'd love to have it before my birthday! I was also told that they have well over 100 on their list, but I have no clue as to where I am on that list. My first choice was Seaside Pearl, but I'm nervous about the ivory interior getting permanent stainage from the buckets of espresso I drink. Elsewhere I read that the Alcantara fabric has some stain protection on it which causes liquids to bead up. However I think I will still keep a spray bottle with a soapy solution and wipes in the glove box just in case. thanks again aja!
I have been waiting for my Prius since Oct 03. I have been told I am at "the top of the list" for quite some time. Boy, it is agrivating.
I have been waiting since November 23rd for a Silver #7 from Bob Bridge in Renton. I am 4th on their list, with one other #7 ahead of me. They seem to only get a few per month from my progress on the list.
They told me they've stopped taking orders. When last I checked (two weeks ago) they had 92 back orders. If you divide that by their monthly allocation, there's your wait. Bob
 Sooo I received an unidentified call on my cell phone whilst at work and lo and behold a Silver #9 is arriving in five days from Portland and I was asked whether I would acquiesce (my first choice now being Tideland) and accept this one...um yeeeah, no real compromise methinks. Now if I was a gun totin', beer swillin' redneck I would jack up the car five feet to prove I'm a man like all the trucks and SUVs you see lumbering down I5 and I90. nah I'll stick with the low rider. Thanks for the stacks of wisdom fellow priuschat members I'm sure it will come in handy. cheers!
I have been waiting 7 frustrating months, and I am continually told I am "at the top of the list", that my fully loaded (BC) Prius should be here anyday. What I would like to know id where am I exactly on that list. Am I number 1 or 21 and what are the monthly allotments. I'm almost ready to pick up my deposit and go out and by a VW New Beetle now,
Congrats Hybred... If you watch the Michaels web sight, you can see your car arrive on their inventory list. Under new cars, under Prius. By watching the inventory list regularly, you can see how many they get. I think that they go on the list about the time they hit Portland. Good luck aja
Just checked the site. ]http://www.michaelstoyota.com/ No Prius on the 'model' list, meaning that none are "in stock". My experience is that when the get the VIN number assigned, yours will show up. aja
Scooterboy, whose list are you on? Is your color choice limited? You should ask you dealership exactly what is your place in line and don't settle for "somewhere near the top". If they won't tell you I would cry foul and threaten to commandeer the ship as it arrives in port. Okay so I wouldn't go to such extremes but seriously if you've been waiting since October something is suspect.
A quick update on my financing situation. I applied for a loan last night through Capital One and joined Pentagon Federal Credit Union at PenFed.org (you don't have to be in the military or have a family member that belongs to a branch but instead join the National Military Family Association)...in any case I had two responses today, Capital One offering 4.39 (minus a .20 discount for using a preferred dealer on their list) and PenFed at 3.59% Guess which one I chose. Now to investigate insurance...what do other prius members have and how much coverage for items such as underinsured motorists, bodily injury, etc? I'm currently with Nationwide Mutual, and have been for 9 years so perhaps I may get a better rate through that channel.
